The TSA Does It Again…
October 22, 2007

In a move that is foolish even by TSA standards it seems that average passengers are being asked to carry “bombs” onto planes in an effort to test security screening techniques. Does this strike anyone else as a little, I don’t know, irresponsible? Just think about it. As Bruce Scheier put it:
“Someone please tell me this doesn’t actually happen. “Hi Mr. Passenger. I’m a TSA manager. You know I’m not lying to you because of this official-looking laminated badge I have. We need you to help us test airport security. Here’s a ‘fake’ bomb that we’d like you to carry through security in your luggage. “
I really didn’t think the TSA could make things much worse, but they never seem to let me down.
